Re: Panasonic SC-PT450EB-K All in One System Reviews
well.... i've done it, ordered the SC-PT850EB-K from SVP.
should be here this week sometime. starting to hear good things about this new range and with the 1080p up scaling it was just too tempting.

Re: Panasonic SC-PT450EB-K All in One System Reviews
I ordered one yesterday from Laskys.com, the 550EB version. I hope to recieve it in the next few days and will let people know how it performs.
Im a newbie to this sort of stuff so my review may be a bit basic but Ill do my best.
Also if anyone can give me any tips on cable requirements I might need and how to hook it up properly (I can fudge my way through it but Im sure theres a best way to do it!)
heres the stuff Im hooking up:-
1) Panasonic TX37 tv - 1 hdmi
2) Sky + box (pretty sure it hasnt got a hdmi socket), but has scart etc..
3) the dvd/reciever in the AIO Panasonic system - 1 hdmi
I guess probably the best thing would be AOI to TV via HDMI, Sky to TV via Scart, Sky to AOI via ?? not sure.

Re: Panasonic SC-PT450EB-K All in One System Reviews
well your right about comming with cables.... NO was the answer ...
i have the belkin switch... which i have got 1 belkin hdmi cable connecting from switch to ps3..... the other hdmi from sc-pt850eb-k to switch is what came with the belkin switch itself... was going to buy another belkin hdmi but the cable supplied with the switch is more then good enough.. from switch to tv i use QED..... from sky hd to tv i use an ixos..... most hdmi are good enough.. the belkin hdmi cable 1 meter is about £50- depending where you buy.. the fibre optic is also belkin and that cost me £20 from ebay but i think you can buy for £30- give or take.... (belkin silver range)

Re: Panasonic SC-PT450EB-K All in One System Reviews
thanks unique geeza much apreciated.
Ive got the kit, hooked it up as much as possible without an connectins to my tv or sky+ box as was eager to here it! played some free cd and its awesome, even missed some of the england u21 match it was that good.
tomorrow will go in search of some of the cables you mention.
was reading the manual and checking the cables requirements :-
1) hdmi - tv to aio
2) optic - aio to sky + box
3) scart - sky + box to tv
which I Im fine with.
but its also displaying an audio cable from aux on the aio to audio out on he tv? I dont understand why this is needed, I thought the hdmi cable would handle this?
anyway if theyre required aswell can you recommend a cable for that please.

If anyone is interested - I'm selling my PT450 as I swapped it for the 850 - check the AV classifieds forum if you're interested.

Re: Panasonic SC-PT450EB-K All in One System Reviews
Are the rears in this package wireless, the panny site list them as so but the manual shows wires.
Can anyone who has this confirm.
I am really tempted to get this to compliment my PX70.
