Exclamation Supernova Screens

Anyone own one? I believe its by DNP or something and is the basis of screens offered by Screen Innovations out of Texas. Anyway technology claims of able to view under ambient light etc. Anyone have experience? Does it really work? How would it compare to say a Plasma during day light?

Re: Supernova Screens

HI,

I have seen it in an electrical version at the High End show and it looked great in ambient light. It was shown in combination with a SIM2 C3X Evo, so a nice combination.

It really looked the part and was impressive at 84". However, it was a 26,000 euro set up (projector + screen), so it's not for everyone.

For a true comparison between plasma and this solution, I would say that the price/performance ratio of the solution can't be beaten for bigger sizes (100" with the same projector as above would be only a few thousand more), but if 50" or 60" is all you need, a plasma would be the better deal.

If you go for a fixed version, such as the Screen Innovations (which use DNP technology) or DNP's own version, the price will be lower. Using a different projector also significantly impacts the price.

Regards,

Otto
