Video conversion

Hi
Believe that this is the most appropriate forum - apologies if I should be in MP3s.
Just purchased and am getting to grips with a 30gb Creative Zen Vision M.
Nice piece of kit for a novice like me and am happily ripping CD collection as I type.
Last night attempting to convert a BBC podcast, I gave up after a hour and a half and only reaching a third of a 9 minute long file! The Zen software had dircted me to downloading Quicktime 7.
Can anyone guide me on ;
1. What I was doing wrong or,
2. A better option
Cheers

Re: Video conversion

Podcasts are often MP4 files which is an apple format. I convert these to AVI files for my Archos using Lathe http://www.omniquiti.com/store.php
