Sky Eye Help
I have fitted a my sky eye yesterday, I did the following
Ran cable out of RF2 outlet on sky box upto tv in bedroom
Turned on RF2 power on sky box
Plugged TVlink into upstairs tv.
This is where I get the problem! The TVlink doesn’t light up? I know the cable is ok as if I bypass the TVlink I can see what is showing on my skybox downstairs from the bedroom tv?
Is my TVlink faulty or have I done something wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Sky Eye Help
Have activated RF2 power, go into your services menu and press the key combination 4,0,1. It is in this hidden menu that you activate the power out to the magic eye.

Re: Sky Eye Help
Take the SKY eye back to the SKY box and plug directly into the Boxes RF2, does the light come on. Y = you have a short on the aerial cable to your remote TV, N = Problem with the Magic Eye or SKY box. Test Magic eye in someone elses box does it work, Y = Your SKY box has a problem, N = Your have a duff Magic Eye.

No, this is an RF signal a direct connection is not required to receive the signal. Just like the signal that you receive via your aerial. The TV Link requires a direct connection to receive power.

Re: Sky Eye Help
a coax signal will still get a good picture evenif there is a fault on the cable, but if one strand of the outer braid touches the inner core, you will short the magic eye! try in main room first, as previously advised, if doesnt work then you have a cable fault!

Re: Sky Eye Help
Check also that your aerial socket is not protected against lightening strikes, as I believe that stops the magic eye working.
Cheers

Re: Sky Eye Help
Hi
Make sure it is direct cable from your sky box to your 2nd tv as amps and some faceplates can stop the signal. Make sure you have good connections.
