Fight Club ??
Watched Fight Club last night, the first time since I saw it on the cinema. Still a brilliant film, but my wife and brother hated it, citing too much violence and a plot that did not hang together. I had trouble understanding their viewpoint. Is this a film a bit like art in terms of the way it initiates different reactions or is there something deeper going on here. Comments

"Just might require another viewing" NY Times
I think that sums it up really. Like Blade Runner, Memento, 12 Monkeys, you pick up more of the detail on repeat viewings. Great film, Great DVD (2 disk version)

Personally I think it's one of the best movies of the last few years. It certainly didn't deserve to get the producers sacked from Fox when the film failed to turn a profit and Rupert Murdoch couldn't bring himself to see the funny side.
It gets better with repeated viewings, you always notice something new.

Possible SPOILER if you've yet to watch
I think it is a great film. Esp. the ending - a bit of a surprise there if you still have to watch it.
I think it would've been a little better with out that 30sec pumelling of the guy on the floor. I mean more universally watchable.
My wife wouldn't watch it because she knew there'd be fighting, and now I've seen it I know that just because of that small segment, she's right to avoid it.

Isn't the Uk DVD/Video version cencored at that point? I know the version on Sky isn't but had heard that it was different from the video version

Loads of nice extras mate, including a lovely ability to play the movie backwards Well worth upgrading!

R2 UK is censored by 4 seconds, plus they substituted some dialogue and other stuff elsewhere in the movie so that's another 3 seconds, making 7 seconds in total. R1 and R4 are okay, R2 UK should be avoided like the plague IMO.
