Typical symptoms for the end of the box?

Have an Amstrad box (not sure whether it is V1 or 2), over the past couple of weeks the picture has started to freeze a little, sound has dropped and on recorded stuff the sound has gone out of sync.

Is this the end of my Sky+ box or just playing up?

I would say it's just playing up, it does happen with Sky+ boxes.

If you don't mind losing all your recordings, your best bet would be powering down the box completely removing the dish input cables to get rid of any static. Then you can do a full system reset which should bring it back to life for you...
