SD material through Sky HD

I don't have Sky HD yet but I'd like to know whether you need both SCART and a HDMI cable for a Sky HD box to view SD material or is just the HDMI cable supplied with the box enough?

Sorry if its a stupid question but I absolutely have no idea!

Hi,
I'd recommend replacing the included HDMI cable with something better - I use QED's Qunex HDMI.

Regards,

Lee

Hi,The general belief on digital signal cables is they all do the same job over a short distance. So you could spend £35 on the QED cable or save your money and keep the Sky one.I don't know myself if it makes a difference but their is a lot of debate on the subject.May be a good idea to borrow a cable and test it out.
Lee have you tried a cheap cable against your QED.I would be interested in the result.I'm getting HD installed on friday.I was just going to use the Sky cable.Although I'm a big QED fan. Thanks

Re: SD material through Sky HD

The engineer will set the box up with both HDMI & SCART incase the HDMI fails.

I've only been watching through the HDMI and I think there is a noticable PQ improvement over the old SCART.
