Samsung BD-P1000 and Lumagen HQ

I thought there had been some discussion on this but can't find it. so here goes again.

If I ask my Samsung blu-ray player to output 1080p i get a picture covered in interference and it flashes on and off.

My HDQ is set to user in the EDID and 1080p is enabled (latest firmware). 1080i is fine - just curious why 1080p is a no go.

Any help much appreciated.

1080P24 is the only 1080P the Lumagens accept on the DVI inputs. I think the only BDplayer that sticks that out is the Sony/Pioneer. You should use 1080i in to the scaler. The scaler will reconstruct the 1080P original frame no probs.

Thanks Gordon.

I got all excited because the Lumagen FAQ specifically mentions how to set up the HDQ for 1080p from the Sammy (and the Sony). Would that be just the US version of the P1000?

Re: Samsung BD-P1000 and Lumagen HQ

The Samsung P1000 only outputs 1080 as i60 or p60, but the new P1200 will output 1080p24. The LG BH100 might, as well (though who cares?)
