HD DVD/BD drive
Hi there. Anyone tried taking the HD DVD or BD drive from a stand alone player and getting it to work in an HTPC yet?

Yes. The HD-DVD drive has been removed from a Toshiba unit and plugged into a PC, and it acts like a normal DVD drive.

i think i've seen somewhere that the xbox 360 HD DVD drive can be plugged in to use on a PC

I tried effing about with my 360 HD DVD drive and it worked fine, it's that that I hate external devices so I couldn't stand it!

It worked fine, but internal was the only way to go for me, so I got one of these for £120-no contest.

Which reminds me-I must get round to flogging my 360 HD DVD drive....
