I have a continuing problem with my D-60 pop-up flash. It doesn't pop up in a variety of modes and settings. The left side button just doesn't activate the flash nor do I get even a flash icon in the viewfinder.

After trying suggested fixes from this forum (thanks to all of you!) I contacted Canon Support and they said to send it in for service since it's an internal problem.

Does anyone have a clue about the average turnaround time involved here ... i.e. from sending it to Canon to getting it back? Canon's facility is in Jamesburg New Jersey 08831 and I'm in the New York City metro area.

Many thanks.

Won't Canon themselves give you an idea of the turnaround time?

If it's a problem they can fix in a day or so (or if they have to give you a replacement camera) then I wouldn't expect turnaround to be less than 3 weeks but that's just a guess based on previous experience of sending electronic equipment to be repaired (in the UK).
