Alright
I have been a BT Bradband customer for 5 months now. I have the Home Hub jobbie and have the top package of £26.99 a month:eek:
When i signed up it said that you could only download up to 40GB a month of content as part of the download limit.
Now, i looked on the site yesterday and it says that if you ssign up to the same package that the download limit is Unlimited?
Do current customers also have unlimited usage now? or are we still only allowed 40GB?

On the same package for a year now and yes it is unlimited now. You can check by logging in to your bt email and clicking the my account link.
*But as usual fair Use Policy applies.

Indeed, so as long as you don't download too much (something stupid like 250gb a month) you should be alright.

You can't even encrypt with utorrent or azureus either. So you are pretty much stuck to downloading in the morning or late at night. Wish i wasn't stuck with them. Any other time you will pretty much be downloading at 5kb to 15kb

Never had any problems with Torrents here, they seem to traffic shape randomly.

On option 3 - never really download much during "peak" times - if I'm gonna download a few GB, I just schedule the download to start at 00:00 and its always finished by the time I get up the next morning. Probably do around 150gb a month...
If everyone done that rather than throttling their connection this time of the evening the world would be a better place!

If you continue to do that much a month you will be getting a letter and prob a bill from BT soon then.
If people want to download why use torrents just sign up for a newsgroup service.

What do BT do to high users on option 3? Warn, then bill or warn then give the option to cut the contract as many other isps do?
