nvida 8800gts to component plasma tv?

hi everyone,
i was wondering if this sounds corect to you guys, im getting a bfg 8800 gts card and i was hoping to connect the pc to a panasonic viera plasma tv with the serial number TH-37PE50B. now the tv has only 2 scarts and a rgb compnent input. can it be done? ive bought a dvi to component lead hoping thats all i would need
do you think that would work?

any info would be great

I think your best bet is to connect your pc to your plasma using a vga to dvi cable.These are widely available( try ebay).Hope this helps.

That should work just fine, I'm running a viera TV from a DVI to HDMI convertor

it comes with a component out, kind of breakout cable thing

This is the kinda of thing I need to know too jay. I have exactly the same TV and it is a pain that there is no VGA input.
I've found it difficult to get a straight answer to the whole DVI to Comp. question and would love to here if you get it sorted.

Sorry I can't be of any help. Will get in touch if I find any more info.

you get a breakout cable which plugs into the svideo out on the card which allows you to connect to the component ins on your tv.
I have this card, thats how i use it.
