View Full Version : Canon EOS D-60 Flash Doesn't Work

In the short time I've had my D-60, I've used it exclusively for available-light photography.

Now I just tried taking some built-in flash shots but the pop-up flash doesn't pop up, regardless of the basic and creative settings I've used. Pressing the Flash Button on the left side of the camera housing (near the "EOS D-60" logo) doesn't do anything nor does any flash icon appear in the viewfinder.

Did I inadvertently turn off my flash capability? I'm still learning to master the D-60...so I'm open to all suggestions from those of you in the know.

Many thanks.

P S - I do recall the flash popping up automatically when I first got the D-60.

From http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneosd60/page6.asp

"The flash pop-up is motorized, that is pressing the flash button pops the flash up using a motorized release mechanism. In AUTO exposure the flash will automatically pop-up when required."

If you still can't get it to work you might want to try the Canon DSLR forum on DPReview: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1019

Michael,

I've already posted in DPReview and got additional feedback.

I also contact Canon Support and they said I'd have to return the camera to them for internal servicing.

Have you any idea of the approximate turnaround time here?

Thanks.

No idea what the Canon turnaround time would be. Sorry.
Michael.
