I wouldn't even try to fix it to the plasterboard itself. |

Re: Help PlasterBoard!!!
Don't know anything about that specific wall mount mate, but you will need to fix it to the studs behind the plaster board, rather than only the plasterboard itself.
I myself wouldn't trust any sort of plasterboard fixing anchor with the weight of a 32 inch TV. You can buy a cheap stud finder (a little electronic device that will indicate when it is held over a timber stud) or work out where they are. You can do this by plumbing up with a spirit level if you can see fixing points in the skirting. Studs are usually spaced at 400mm centres. Also be aware of any hidden cables, for example if you are fixing directly above a socket, there is likely a cable coming straight down to it. Sorry if this isn't much help, but I'll be back on later tonight if you got any questions. |

Re: Help PlasterBoard!!!
Hi Davies
I have posted loads of times about this before so I suggest you look back as the answers will be the same. But first make sure you know wether you have a true CAVITY plasterboard wall or......... A DRY LINED plasterboard faced wall which will have brick or block behind. This makes all the difference. Steve PS If you were lucky enough to find the studs in a cavity wall they will almost certainly be in the wrong place for your puposes anyway. |

Re: Help PlasterBoard!!!
You could always attach a piece of plyboard to the wall, fixing several times to the stud behind, then attach the wall mount to the plyboard. Just my two pennies worth...
