Can someone tell me if I've got this correct. I'm cancelling my SKY and broadband, and ditching the landline (I know this could be expensive to re-instate) and changing to VirginMedia. Looks like I'm onto a winner?

Monthly Charges

Current setup:

SKY+ with Sports Package - £37
Phone - Line rental with BT & calls with Chess £11+
Broadband - Freeonline - £14.99 upto 2MB

Grand Total = £62.99

Change of circumstances - Now in a cable area (according to VirginMedia?)

New Setup

2 for £20 - TV & Broadband Bundle
Skysports 1 & 3 - £19

Grand Total = £39

Haven't you forgotten the phone and the SKY+ service
Virgin's equivalent is
Phone =£11.50 without calls
V+ = from £10 to £15 per month

So you could have to add 26.50 to your price to get the same service.

I've just moved to Virgin's 3 for £30 (Broadband, phone and TV) and I pay a little more than with Sky (About £2) but the V+ box is HD- only one channel on base subscription (BBC HD) but worth the extra

I wasn't comparing (although I know it looks like it). I was just wanting to know if I've got my facts correct regards the Virgin Media deal and whether I need to keep my phone line. I only really need this at present for my broadband.

Called Virgin today (0800 0520855) to confirm cable availability. Just as I thought the online service was wrong I'm not in a cable area yet.
