Hi,

I have the 250G pro version of the disc that Ger linked (because it's silver  )
and i've had no problems with it either. You can get an idea of how big it is from my mac photo here http://www.avforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4410985&postcount=13

If you want small, how about these http://www.formac.com/webapp/products_drives_disk_mini.php a mate has one and he has had no problems with it as far as I know. Bonus is is that it is powered from the USB cable so no need for a power supply
Downside is that its only 160GB, but that depends how much storage you need I s'pose. They are about £70 from places like ebuyer.

Wayne.

I've got one of those also, had it for about 5 months, no probs at all. And I paid £50 more than that when I got mine

It's also here, with the added advantage of free postage! (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-Essential-USB2-0-External/dp/B000EXZB0M/ref=pd_ka_1/026-0046715-7952415?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1174177512&sr=8-1)

I have the Firewire/USB 500gb one, and it's great. So good in fact that I'm thinking of getting another to daisychain into my first one.

They're popular!
I have a 500GB Pro version connected via firewire 800. It's really quick.
Also use 2 x 500 GB USB ones at work on a server.

What do you mean by daisychain? Can these drives be connected together?

I have not tried it, but pretty sure they can (think they have two Firewire 800 ports on them for this purpose).

I have a Western Digital My Book Pro 500gb. Works great, so another vote from me for a WD My Book. The pro version matches my MacBook Pro perfectly, and works great with Firewire 800.

Yep, but only via Firewire, which is able to mount drives in this way.

E.g. you attach Drive 1 via Firewire to your Mac, then Drive 2 to the spare firewire port on Drive 1 and so on.

They'll simply show up mounted in Finder as separate drives named Drive 1,2 etc.

Nice, no?

I got the Essential version, so only USB connections. Would paid a bit extra if I knew this was possible. Would've been handy if I get more drives.
