Anybody have any experience of using third party adapters. Obviopusly I can't go firewire in - I need composite/S-VHS in via an adapter of sorts...

This Canapos (http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=6C04E07A&nplm=TA574) coverter is great. It can convert analogue to digital and back again.

the Canopus Advc 55 is the input only version and cheaper. Edu price can be got on Canopus products too.
