V+ box installed - no remote !

So I had my install yesterday and I'm happy with all the work done!
However the guy said that he didn't have any remotes as they weren't in the country yet(! ? !)
He installed the silver TVdrive too - surely they've been around for 18 months.
I was at work, so he told this to the Mrs...
Anyone got any thoughts on this ?

i work for virginmedia tech and that is rubbish they installed my V+ box with remote no bother phone up customer services and complain because that is a joke

How about the silver TVDrive - will it be brand-new - with the latest firmware ?
Or should I have got the black Virgin-media branded one?
(do they have the same innards - HDD size, etc?)

yes the tv-drive is the same its just the casing is different so dont worry
