Buy a Macbook Pro now or wait for Leopard in a few weeks

What would you do?

Was going to get a refurb 15" glossy/2.33GHz/2Gb RAM/120Gb 5400 rpm/ATI Radeon x1600 256mb for £1,429

Put off buyimh now by the thought of having to fork out another £100 next month for Leopard.

Then hearing stories of thinner lighter screens .... it never ends...apple cutting edge moves every 3 months.

well leopard won't come on a refurb even after it's launched so if you want it you'll have to pay approx £90 for the boxed version or buy a new MacBook Pro but at a higher cost

There are rumours going round that leopard will be release on the 24th March, not sure how much substance these rumours have but personally I am also thinking of buying a Mac and I am at least waiting till Leopard is out whenever that maybe!

There is also a rumour that because Apple seems to have stopped shipment to stores of All Mac Mini's, 17'' imacs and ipod nanos until 24th March makes me believe that new versions of the hardware will also be released this month.

I'm waiting until After 24th just incase something does materialise from these rumours

There have been many rumours of a March release, but some rumour sites are now reporting there are various bugs in the Leopard code they are seeing, and thus leading to speculation that it is still a few months off.

Thanks for the input. I too have seen the comments on delays to leopard as a result of last seed.

The apple store order line are saying that normally I'd get a free (or heavily discounted) upgrade to Leopard if it came out within 28 days of the shipping date.

In reality I'd need to buy leopard anyway for two other macs in the house so I might not wait ... and ust buy a family (5 licence) version of 10.5 when it arrives.

From the rumours that's going around Leopard could be released as soon as a couple of weeks. If not then i think we are looking around May for it.

As far as i am aware, the Mac line is also being updated for release with Leopard hense the reason why i am waiting just for some sort of announcement:thumbsup:

I wish they would hurry up, the PC has just got to go :grin:

According to MacRumors, the release date for Leopard will be mid to late April.???????????????????? Its anybodys guess
