Com port wont recognise Camera

[color=blue]I have a JVC GRDVX9 Camcorder with digital stills recording on multimedia card which can be downloaded via the com port, It has worked fine for a year and now all of a sudden my computer can not detected it through the jclip software I have checked the camera on a friends computer and it works fine , My computer tells me my com ports are working ok and I have no problem connecting my PDA to com port 2 has anyone got any idea what could be wrong

1st question is: What has changed? Have you installed any new software or hardware recently. I note that you mentioned a PDA. Is this new. I know that we've had a lot of problems with COM ports on PC's at work caused by the Palm Pilot sync software. un-install that, and the COM ports work fine.
