The the built in isight works in bootcamp on msn. I've heard the next mac version of msn will work with webcams. Fingers crossed.

If i move all my contacts to ichat, and use that will everyone on the PC be able to talk and see me still using their MSN or do you have to have the same software?

Re: Macbook camera with MSN messenger
I think you have to have the same software and a mac.com subscription

Re: Macbook camera with MSN messenger
the only way to use MSN through iChat is with Jabber, but it isnt that good.
Either use aMSN to talk to MSN users or convert them to Skype that works really well

Re: Macbook camera with MSN messenger
Jabber is really bad I think - well, it is when using it with iChat to talk to MSN users. That'd be great if they can improve it. Fingers crossed!

Skype looks cool and easy to use. I'll jump to that

I've found Skype to be quite laggy, and my broadband connection is rapid, so I am putting it down to the Skype video servers.
I use iChat with an AIM account, no need for a .Mac subscription which is way too expensive for what it is right now (IMHO). No video support in the current version of Messenger for mac is a pain, but only a few of my contacts use webcams anyway, and I just chat to them on iChat.

Re: Macbook camera with MSN messenger
IIRC this is more of an issue with M$ still using h.262 for MSN video and Apple using h.264 for iChat ... I thought it was going to be fixed in Vista with h.264 compatibility built in to Vista-MSN ?

Sure you can, AIM users can chat with iChat users cross platform. You can find more information here if you have any problems, I found it useful.
