Homechoice and Samsung R73/4
Hello, first post btw, and obviously I've a question...
But first a bit of background. I've had homechoice since 2004, on the whole I find the service pretty good. In my experience good cableing from the phone socket to the box helps, as does the quality of the signal into your building. Last month BT upgraded everyone in the street and knocked the ADSL out, which took a week to get fixed, but that wasn't really HC's fault. My advice is call during office hours, so your call is logged by someone in this country who can actually do something about it... The VOD service is good, and is hopefully going to get better as of 1st March according to a letter the sent recently since the Tiscali buy out. They're also planning a PVR component for release in June I understand. I jsut hope they can maintain the service whilst conducting the planned expansion. Anyway we've been using with an old sony CRT, which finally gave up the ghost the other day. So we took the plunge and bought a Samsung R73 26" LCD tv. Couple of things I found out... the scart into Ext 1 gave a fuzzy white line/distortion across the top of the screen whenever I access any replay material.. but strangly not the menu sections. I tried the TV's other scart socket and it fixed it.. not sure what that means? The normal TV picture was ok, though on a set like that particualarly watching say..football, you can see the compression. The question: We lost the Sony remote so bought a universal one, however the HC remote could also control the volume. Does anyone have a code to make the HC remote control the Samsung volume as having two is a pain. Any other optimum set up advice?? anyway appols for long FP, nice to be here. eyedropper |
