Can a Sony DAV S500 convert ntsc to pal

a friend of mine from another forum is only getting black and white picture from R1 DVDs as his Goodmans TV will not accept the NTSC signal

can the Sony covert the signal ?

if not is it a case of getting a new tv ?

Sony DAV ouputs NTSC>NTSC.

You can get a ntsc convertor to do the conversion job for you. Cheap ones are around £90. Good ones are £200+.

In the long run he may be better off with a new tv set, if it's in the budget that is....
