Question 2nd Hand Rega Planar 3 or new/used Project Debut III

not wanting to spend mega bucks but these are the 2 turntables i have narrowed my search down to.

Is the rega the better turntable. Is is worththe extra over a 2nd hand Debut III.

Or could anyone else recomend a turntable in the 70 - 130 price bracket.

Also seen the NAD 533 - am i right in thinking that this is similar to the rega?

Thanks in advance

I recently got a Project Xpression 1 off eBay for £85, and I'm delighted with it. An absolute steal!

Re: 2nd Hand Rega Planar 3 or new/used Project Debut III

This is asked quite regualrly (do a search), id rather have a rega over just about anthing in that price range, i had mine for over 10 years.

Ive never been to keen on projects, i have used and looked at them, but never been won over.

Smile Re: 2nd Hand Rega Planar 3 or new/used Project Debut III

i did do a search but there was mountains of stuff to wade through

For every person that will recommend a rega others are highly impressed with the debut 3.

i will see what comes up but i will probably try and go for a rega

Re: 2nd Hand Rega Planar 3 or new/used Project Debut III

i bought a debut 2 for my sister, because it was cheap and pink, cant say i was very keen on it.

with the right cartridge, the planar can be a superb performer, and will last for a very long time, it will also retain its resale value when you come to upgrade.

Either one however, opens up the world of vinyl, which is a good thing what ever deck you use. i just like the planar 3, when upgrading however, i didnt much like the better models, just didnt offer the same bang for the buck.
