I have given up on waiting for an XE1 and gone out and bought a xbox 360 HD DVD drive to connect up to my PC. (should arrive in the next couple of days!!)
Is it possible to get the HD sound formats through to my av reciever?

I think it's possible (I haven't tried myself) using analogue connections but not digital. AFAIK there is currently no way to do this digitally since True HD can't be carried over spdif, only HDMI. The current graphics cards with HDMI have a header on them for sound but this is spdif only.

Cheers for the info. I have 3 jack to phono adapters on their way to me so will connect the analogues up and see how it goes!
