PureVideo Codec - Ordering Issue

I've tried to order the nVidia PureVideo decoder from nVidia's site (www.nvidia.co.uk). However, when I get to checkout, despite the price being in GBP, the country selection is limited to the US and Canada.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, or found a way around it? I've cleared my cookies to make sure, but there's no UK option which means I can't enter valid credit card details.

Thanks!

Re: PureVideo Codec - Ordering Issue

I managed to order it using a fake address i.e california 90210. I believe this loophole is now closed. You can order the retail cd from scan, once you have this you can update the codec from Nvidia's webiste.

I took at look at their website & that's not the problem now. They seem quite happy to sell it to you wherevr you live but when you come to pay the only options for country when entering your credit card billing address is US or Canada. Might be worth just putting the wrong country & seeing if it accepts payment with this part of the billing address incorrect.

Re: PureVideo Codec - Ordering Issue

Ordered mine a while back, but I put in NVidia's own address as my address. May possibly work as it's at least a real address.

Re: PureVideo Codec - Ordering Issue

I've tried putting in the billing card address with the wrong country, but no such luck. I'm reluctant to go sticking in american addresses that aren't mine, either.

The scan suggestion: I couldn't find the product there - do you have a direct link, strontium? Thanks.

Scan's price for this is reasonably cheap but it charges a lot for postage (£7 P&P just for a CD!). Other suppliers such as MediaPC are a little cheaper (e.g. £9.99 total compared to Scan's £11.71).

Shame Nvidia can't sort out its online ordering for the UK. How hard can it be?

Nope, bronze will be fine for spdif passthrough. Just remember that means no multichannel decoding in software if you ever needed.

@BryanK:
The reason they don't support euro buying is probably 'cos they can't be bothered to put in all the "extra processing" for a VAT amount, coping with EU businesses e.t.c So EU buyers lose out.

Re: PureVideo Codec - Ordering Issue

When your amp cannot decode a format it might come across such as some of the new HD formats!
