£200 and under ebay cd players
my current system is in my signature (incase it's not showing up, it's a marantz pm4001 and B&W DM602 (originals)). Music is currently coming through my pc via the audigy 2 zs.
However i have quite a few cd's that i'd like to be making use of. Most of them are dance/trance electroica type cd (MOS, Orbital, Chemical brothers etc). I'd quite like to get a CD player to go with this setup. well to go with the speakers as i do have plans to upgrade my amp at some point, mainly to something like a rotel.
i have about £200 to spend (but would generally like to spend less) and am wondering what should i be looking out for on ebay or these here forums. can the cd player make a difference to the type of music i listen to or is it always the amp/speakers?
i notice NAD seems to be recomended, any other choices?

Hi,
My vote would be for the Arcam CD72, seeing as I have one You can pick one up for considerably less than £200 on fleabay and they really are excellent players for the money. I'm not a dance freak myself, I tend to play heavy rock, classical, pop, blues, so quite a wide spread. It performs well on all, but particularly well on vocal led cd's ,eg Norah Jones, Katie Melua (not my cd's...honest!!!) You would not be dissapointed with this player

Re: £200 and under ebay cd players
Yeah Ive got a CD72 and its good for dance stuff....nice base, sound generally feels weighty and 3 dimensional ..although for guitar orientated stuff I find myself turning up the treble on my amp for a bit of bite ...shock horror

The Marantz CD 63KI might be a bit out of fashion but it is a great cd at the £80 mark.
Marantz Cd63 Ki Si Mint Condition No Box £100!

Re: £200 and under ebay cd players
at £150 maybe, but they often reach over £200 and at that price I just dont think they are worth it, mind you I did see a Cyrus CD6 go for £250 the other day and if had been in the market I would have raided my piggy bank.
