Damaged SATA Power Connector

Hi all. I have been having problems with one of my Maxtor 200 gb sata hard drives. I just took it out to have a look and found that the sata power connector was loose. Upon giving it a bit of a wiggle to try and secure it, the plastic L which covers the metal pins seems to have snapped off. Now I can't power up the drive at all. The pins are all intact.
Does anyone know if this is fixable? I'd hate to think that something so simple like a broken plastic connector could mean the death of a hard drive.

I have the same problem, but with the other connector. I need to know if this can be fixed.

Re: Damaged SATA Power Connector

A colleague's Raptor had a similar issue.

He used hotmelt glue to permenantely attach a Sata power lead. This has been fine for 6 months, it is not so good if you are constantly changing cases, or pimping your cables, but it works.

You may have warrenty left on the drive, this can normally be checked on the manufacturer's website, I just got a Seagate replaced (recieved re-fub) on which the sata board had blown up (shorted it out when messing around).
