Hi all, I wonder if anyone could give me the pros and cons over cancelling my sky + and going with virgin under their VIP package.
I already Have ntl broadband 10mb and telephone.
Basically the benefit so far is going to be
hd capable box
Second box for the bedroom
recording two channels and watching a third
and unlimited 24/7 calls
This will also save me a few quid a month.
Are there any drawbacks of the system over a normal sky + box?
I know that HD content is limited to BBC and some demand programmes, but that still more then I get now through sky.
Any help would be appreciated as I am leaning towards getting V+, but dont want to be dissapointed

For your needs i would say go for it. As a PVR i find TVDrive far better than sky+ boxes, and i've had a TV drive for over a year now. I use the extra tuner constantly and would hate to loose it now.

Thanks for your prompt reply. what would be the disadvantages from moving away from sky as a whole?
Im expecting loss of interactive working etc.. is there anything less obvious with regard to the V+ system that I might miss when changing?

Other than interactivity, ie match choice and camera angles on sports, there is little difference. The menu's might take some getting used to as their not a channel hoping friendly but personally now i have a PVR i don't watch live tv anyway just the stuff i choose to watch.
The bonus' of an extra tuner, and upscaling to 720p/1080i of the V+ far outway the loss of red button stuff. You also get access to real VOD material which sky does not have. The only downside of VM at the moment is the lack of HD channels, but i don't rate sky's HD offering that highly anyway. It's a token service at best at present.

I think this has help me decide. thinbk I will be giving virgin a call soon. Sky HD stuff is so overpriced for what you get that I wouldnt even consider it so not bothered by the lack of hd on virgin at the moment.
Thanks
