Problems with SE-DIR2000C wireless headphones

(excuse my english , I am from Spain)
BritBoB have experienced the same problems (search in this forum) that I'm having with my headphones, I constantly hear like a crackle sound; sometimes 10 times in a minute, other times 1 time in a minute.
I purchased my system 2 months ago, the few weeks I did not experience any problems, but now the crackling noise is constant. I emailed audiocubes, they quickly replied and said maybe it is something with the transformer...I am frustrated, any help?
Thanks

Re: Problems with SE-DIR2000C wireless headphones

Hi pedrito77,

Sorry to hear about your problems. I'm affraid to say I can't really offer you any good news. As you know I am on my third set now and although Audiocubes have very good customer service they are adament that it is a fault with my set up an not the headphones and will not exchange them again. I have now bought a set of wired Sennheiser HD595's and use these with the Pioneer amp. I am very happy with the result but am obviously dissapointed and frustrated that the wireless headphones don't work. I really wish I knew what was wrong with them as well and would like to hear from anyone else who has problems.

I'm sorry I have taken a while to reply and suppose that you have made you decision as to wether you return them or not. It might be worth an exchange with Audiocubes if the P&P is not too expensive for you to return them or you might want to ask for a refund. The Sennheiser headphones that I bought were expensive but only slightly more than retuning the Pioneers to Japan again and to be quite honest I have completely lost confidence in the wireless ones to the point that when I have been using them I can't consentrate on a films I'm watching because I'm just waiting for the crackling. At least with the wired set I can relax and actually watch things without worry of fault.

I hope thing get sorted for you and would be interested to hear what the outcome is and how you get on. If you have any more questions I am more than happy to help if I can.

All the best,

Bob

Re: Problems with SE-DIR2000C wireless headphones

Hi, I emailed you with a reply some days ago, I reply you in the forum too:

Audiocubes appears to have a very good customer service; they email me and told me I could return the set so they can repair it. I don't know if they can send me another different system. They told me that maybe it is a problem with the travel inverter; in the back of the inverter it says that in continuation use tha maximun output is 28W. I don't know if that is the problem, maybe if I change the inverter...
They send you a new travel inverter and the problem persisted but after 2 months; maybe there is something in your set up or mine that makes the travel inverter to fail.
My problem is not sending back the unit to audiocubes; the problem is that they fail again and again; I don't know if there is the posibility of replacing the headphones with another different ones like the JVC w-1500 or the panasonic WH-7000; did you recommend that option to audiocubes? (the JVC appears to be a good system)
Where did you buy the Sennheiser? I didn't find them in Audiocubes.
Thank you.

If you are keeping the whole system, a good wired pair would be great. Apparently wireless headphones are known for hiss and crackling from what I have read. Do the headphones have a socket on them for wiring them? I read about a socket but that might have been the actual decoder box.

If you can return the whole system...then you could go for the Creative HQ2300D ~£60 or the JVC SU DH1 (from Audiocubes is probably best as it is not in the UK at the moment).

Re: Problems with SE-DIR2000C wireless headphones

Hi pedrito77,

Sorry I have been so slow in replying! As you know I have returned mine a number of times and the fault has continued, even with a new power converter so really the choice is yours. It might be worth returning them at least once as the fault may not be the same as whatever effects mine, if you are lucky. I also thought the maximum Watage outout might be the problem but the DC converter only needs 26W so it won't be that. I have suggested many thing to Audiocubes but they have stopped being helpful with me so I have cured the problem myself by using the wired headphones with the amp from the Pioneers (yes it does have a headphone socket on the front). I would have thought that if it was a power problem the wired headphones would not work properly either but they work absolutely fine so I think the problem lies with some part of the wireless system, be it headphones or the transmitter on the base unit, or something in my house that is effecting the signal, but nobody seems to know what it is so I have given up. Maybe one day if I move house the wireless phones will work again!

I bought the Sennheisers locally (from Richer Sound) as I am impatiant and couldn't wait for a pair to be delivered (they were only around £10 more from the shop so not too bad). They are available on many websites at various prices so it's worth looking around. I really like the sound and compfort of them, they are much lighter than the supplied set and you really forget you are wearing them. Obviously there are other wired headphones you could try but thid and other websites seemed to give the Sennheisers very good all round reviews and they were at a price that I could just about justify spending and do not need any further amping with the Pioneer base unit.

Hope this is all more help and I wil try to reply a bit sooner if you have any more questions.

All the best,

Bob

Re: Problems with SE-DIR2000C wireless headphones

Hi, thank you very much for you reply.
At this moment I'm goint to try to replace the DC coverter, though I'm very sceptical about the whole thing..; the headphones I connect in the front socket work perfectly, so it appears to be a problem with the wireless transmitter or the wireless headphone; not with the system amp itself...
If that does not work I may try to test the system in a different house; I try different rooms in my house, but not a total different location. If that does not work I may return the system and I'll ask for a repair or ask if they can replace them for another different system. I don't mind if I have to pay extra, money is not the problem (if it is not too much
Thank you again, I'll keep you posted.
cheers

Re: Problems with SE-DIR2000C wireless headphones

Hi,

I'll be very interested to know if a new converter fixes the problem. Good luck with it and please let me know if you have any joy.

All the best,

Bob
