Domestic & General Replacing Z2

My 3yr old Z2 met an untimely end and is being replaced by dom & general.
They have suggested an epson tw620, which will come from Comet, if it's in stock. If not they will give me a cash settlement of £960, which I think I will push for.

I am currently looking at the epson tw700 or the Z5, but cannot find any comparisons. I have a 106" screen and will be running sky hd, (until I get a hdmi splitter with 2 outputs when they are cheaper!) There will be some ambient lighting when being used, Ie blinds shut but not dark.

I have seen the tw700 for around the £1150 mark and the Z5 for around £970 with lamp voucher Both have 3yr warranties, with the epson on site.

Is the epson worth the extra - does it have better PQ or should I stick with the Z5.
Anyone seen cheaper prices? Have I missed any other PJ's that I should be considering?

Thanks

Re: Domestic & General Replacing Z2

Either of them should be a good buy, going on what people have said on the forums.

Deffo get a cash settlement ~ i wouldn't want D&G to decide what i have to watch my dvd collection on, especially with the limited choice on the High St.

If u don't suffer rainbows, u should look at DLP projectors ~ Optoma H70 is getting good reports & costs circa £700 (3 yr warranty), or higher specc'ed machines if u want to spend as much as your budget can spare!

Re: Domestic & General Replacing Z2

thanks, just received settlement cheque today!

I've also just found out that my employer offers a benefit scheme whereby i can get 30% discount on online purchases, but not sure at which stores. I will wait until I know more.

I have a DLP tv and do see the odd rainbow but it does not bother me.
Was looking at the infocus IN76, but whatever I get will have to fit on the existing ceiling mount and will need a small degree of lens shift up and down.

Is the IN76 much better than the optoma HD70?
Also I heard that Infocus customer support is not good - anyone experienced this?

Thanks
