What rack do you guys use for AVC-A1XV(A)?

Hi. I have bitten the bullet and decided to go for the AVC-A1XVA - not sure of delivery just yet but fingers are fully crossed!

I currently have a Soundstyle ST100 (silver frame & dark glass shelves) but this will have to go for obvious reasons. I was looking for something similar in style if possible which would accomodate this huge amp. I'd prefer not to opt for wood as it just wouldn't look right in the room.

I'd welcome your suggestions and advice...

Many thanks,

Gordon.

I would find somewhere close to the ground (but not on a carpet) for this Amp !
It's just TOO heavy to lift. Make sure you have several inches of free space above to vent the heat, and a solid surface for the air to get underneath, and you should be OK.
Just don't try to lift it tho, by yourself... It's too expensive and too fabulous to drop...

Don't use a rack for mine. Made myself a custom shelf with four legs to take the weight. As JH4 has mentioned, make sure whatever you use is well ventilated. The A1XVA runs hot.

Re: What rack do you guys use for AVC-A1XV(A)?

I got a custom cabinet built for the amp and my ht gear. This amp is not designed to be on a shelf. As the rest of the guys say leave plent of room for it as it does get warm and if you get anything made has to be on bottom if not it will come crashing down due to weight.Buy the way, best av amp on market, you won't have to worry about the sound as it delivers well.

Re: What rack do you guys use for AVC-A1XV(A)?

Thanks for the good advice...I might need to put it on a sideboard or table rather than a traditional rack...but it would be nice to have the amp on the bottom of a nice metal/glass frame with the DVD player above...

Hmm...more research...

Cheers,

Gordon.

The smaller WG3 will also support 60kgs on the upper shelf. I use this in conjunction with the double width WG3 AV to house all of my kit.

From Argos!!!

The remote works a treat, through the glass doors. I left the back of the cabinets off to aide ventilation

Got to love the wall that's supporting it - that is some weight to hang LoL.

Re: What rack do you guys use for AVC-A1XV(A)?

Hi...I really like the look of Moviebuff's rack but it just wouldn't fit in this room...

However, I hadn't actually thought of buying a lower rack and using the top shelf for the amp...I suppose I had been set on putting it on the bottom shelf of whatever I buy...but I suppose the DVD player could sit underneath....

Excellent...more options to consider...thanks guys..!

Gordon.
