need new tv, please help

hi all, im new to the forums and have a bit of an idea about tvs, but not alot.

I currently own a 4 year old samsung 43 rear projection tv and want to upgrade.

i am willing to spend 800 quid but could maybe stretch to 1000 if its worth it.

well what im after is the highest spec tv i can get for the money that wont be out of date in 3 or 4 years. 42 inces plus as i dont want to drop down in size. I dont mind if its a plasma or dlp tv.

it will be main house tv and be used for hd gaming with the xbox 360.

please recommend and reasons why.

thanks for your help, much appreciated

It's rear projection so no screen burn. the bulb life is same as any other rear projection tv.

Re: need new tv, please help

My Mum's old Samsung Rear Pro has burn in from the black bars at the top and bottom.

I believe these are CRT projectors and the newer ones don't suffer with this.

I was looking at the sort of budget but found my right TV which was the SOny KDS 55A2000 55" rear pri. Sure it was £1500 which was way over budget but I am really happy with it. Sony stuff is pretty damn good!
