What is the difference between a pda, smartphone, normal internet phone?
|
PDA - a large, touchscreen device primarily used for personal information management. They feature the capability to install 3rd party applications and can be used for gaming, music and video.
Smartphone - A mobile phone that supports the installation of natively coded 3rd party applications. Any PDA that includes phone functionality falls into this category and so do a number of non-touchscreen phones. Generally smartphones tend to run on either the Symbian or Windows Mobile operating systems.
Internet phone - Usually this refers to phones that make calls using voice-over-IP.
If you're looking for a WiFi phone for internet access then you might want to to look at the Sony Ericsson P990, Nokia N80 or Nokia E61. If you're willing to wait a couple of months then the Nokia N95 looks very hot.
