Due to upgrade - K800 or N73?

I have looked at the vast range of phones currently available and I have narrowed it down to K800 or N73. I love photography and have a DSLR, however I would not mind getting one of these camera phones. What are the good and bad points on these? I used to have a K750 and it worked well, had some software problems and the joystick really annoyed me after a while, other than that it was a great phone.

Help and comments please.

Thanks

I've had a K700 for 2 years and after having a second joystick break on it I wouldn't buy another Sony joystick phone. Other than that it was a good phone though. My next phone will be a N73, hopefully this Saturday!

Re: Due to upgrade - K800 or N73?

Had all the K700 K750 & K800 and all suffered problems with the joystick, the W810i is better as that just has a toggle type switch but suffers in the camera dept as its more a music phone (Walkman). Have to say tho they are/were sturdy no nonsense phones.

I currently have the N73 and have to say its a far better phone than the K700/750/K800 and is far better spec'd. Only had it a couple weeks so a long term comparison i cant give yet but as of now it seems to better than the SE's in just about every department both camera wise and player wise and now ive flashed it to the Music Edition firmware the music playing ability is on a par with the Walkman efforts both thro my hifi and car. The SE headphones supplied are far better than the Nokia ones tho. If you buy the adaptor you can use any phones with the N73 which ive done.

My advice would be the N73 as its also 3.2MP in line with the K series and has the Carl Zeiss lense which my camera buff buddies say is quite important.

You may also want to check out the new phones launched just yesterday by SE there maybe some decent camera phones there (im sure there is) although when theyll hit the shops is anyones guess.

Re: Due to upgrade - K800 or N73?

I recieved a N73 last week and my work buddy bought a K800 at the same time.

The screen is bigger and clearer on the N73 than the K800 and the photos are fantasic on both fones as the are both 3.2 Megapixel.

I think design wise the N73 is the better fone, however, mine has crashed several times with me needing to pull the battery out each time as it wouldn't turn off!! The K800 is definitley an impresive fone it just doesn't feel as good quality as the N73.

The thing which did it for me is the screen size on the N73. Its a joy to go on the internet on this fone as well, but the downside it the little joystick on the N73 is a bit to small ofr me and I'm finding that i'm selecting things I don't want. Other than that its much lighter than the 6680 I used to have and the pic quality is amazing for a fone. I work for Vodafone so I have access to many many fones, and decided to go for this one.
One thing to note is on the Nokia official forums, the N73 is not going down to well unforunately. Something to do with bad echo problems when disconnecting for the bluetooth devices. Doesn't bother me as I don't use anything like that. But certainly something to take into consideration.

Re: Due to upgrade - K800 or N73?

I think a lot of the reported problems with the N73 were in the early days and the updated firmware sorts most of these bugs out. I know the update to ME firmware improves the sound quality and i havent had any problem since updating. (Touch wood)

There is also an official firmware update on the Nokia website for N73 owners which all new phones are being supplied with.

Ive had no problems as above with Blue tooth headsets
