Pioneer SD-T50W1..spare parts available anywhere?

I have a Pioneer SD-T50W1 rear projection TV with 2 problems.

The 1st is that the red convergence has gone. Although you are supposed to be able to fix the convergence manually via the remote control, the problem is so severe that this doesn't work.

Secondly the TV can take up to 1 hour for the picture to come on. When first switched on the screen is just gray. When the picture does start to come through it firstly appears as a "lightening" effect, with a combination of the picture and the gray across screen, before the picture finally comes on fully.

The picture on this TV is absolutely fantastic when working properly so I'm loathe to get rid of it. I've had a TV repair person around who says he knows what the problems are, but cannot find the spare parts to repair them.(I think he mentioned a capacitor)

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

I have that TV, and I too am suffering with a similar problem...my blue convergence has gone. Its a shame as the quality is amazing when in full working condition (even with this HD age).

I hope you find what you need

Hi Audit, yeah it is a shame because the picture quality is great.

I have been told that the convergence amp hasn't been available for about 6 months and have had no luck trawling the internet, so am resigned to having to buy a new TV.

At the moment the picture is watchable, just not sure for how much longer.

Re: Pioneer SD-T50W1..spare parts available anywhere?

Sadly, I've decided to sell my rear projection system. I might "ebay" it or place a posting on the trading section of the forum. It still is in working condition and had all three lamps (RGB) and the projection mirror replaced with new ones only six months ago. Only the blue convergence is out of synch. I'm told that this can be repaired once the convergence chipboard is replaced, but the cost is around £400 - £500 - well over the value of the TV.

Re: Pioneer SD-T50W1..spare parts available anywhere?

Good luck if you sell it. I saw a working one go on Ebay last week for £200, so am pretty pessimistic about what I'd get for my faulty one. Mine is still watchable, the faulty red convergence is giving a red arc at the top and bottom of the screen. I will put up with it for as long as possible so that new prices come down further.
