Question 2307 and 2390 - optimal link/calibration

Apologies for the newbie thread, but could one of you knowledgeable chaps (or gals) please give me some pointers on the best way to link my new kit?

My AVR2307 and DVD2390 are coming as part of a retailer-installed home cinema package, and I just want to double-check that they're not cutting any corners or making any big mistakes in hooking it all up. (As far as the rest of my kit goes, it looks like this: Optoma HD72i projector, Sky HD box, Monitor Audio R90s/180, SVS SB12+.2930 will be used for both DVDs and CDs, with different settings on the AVR) Looking at this site, there is obviously a lot of flexibility in terms of how things are set-up, even between the AVR and the DVD. I'm looking for big picture guidance, since I'm a real newbie. For instance, I've read about Denon Link, but I guess my AVR doesn't have that. What's the next best option after that? I know the actual cord linking the two is an HDMI cord (as are the cords between the projector and the AVR and the AVR and Sky HD).

Alternatively, could someone just give me a few questions to ask the installer to make sure he's doing the best thing? I think he is trustworthy and well intentioned, but he made a mistake on the screen size and that made be a bit nervous.

Thanks very much

Re: 2307 and 2390 - optimal link/calibration

For the simplist option HDMI from player to amp will give you video and all audio formats but not SACD.

If you want SACD then you can connect up the multi-channel analogues.

Some people prefer HDMI for video then coaxial for audio as the audio is streamed down the cable rather then broken up. Downside is that you will not get DVD-A as you did when using HDMI for everything.
Again the multi channel analogues would need to be in place.
