Routers hot?

Hi, recently purchased a 3com officeconnect router, it seems to be getting *extreamly* hot (its on all the time), the metal underside is to hot to keep your hand on for a prolonged time.

Is this normal for routers as this is my first?

Re: Routers hot?

Routers do get hot due to the amount of internal circuitry, plus it is an RF based device, i wouldnt worry too much, if i were you i would get a temperature reading and then send the manufacturer an email to see if this is ambient or not.....
