BT Broadband help

Hi

I was getting 2Meg then signed up to get the up to 8Meg (6.5Meg max where I live). Now, it was activated on the 24th but so far I've not seen any change in line speed at all or even fluctuations. According to BT's tech support over 10 days from activation the computers at the exchange will be optimising my line - trouble is nothing seems to actually be happening.

Does this seem normal? I have a feeling 10 days will elapse and I'll be on the phone to them again with no change.

Thanks

Re: BT Broadband help

It could be OK. Broadband speeds depend upon how many people are online at the same time. Try the speed at different times when there may be less online traffic.

Re: BT Broadband help

Disconnect your router from the line and then re-connect. When mine dropped to 1.5meg one day I was not happy, re-connected and got 3meg and thats what I have been running on since, mind you I did dump the white box and went back to my Linksys router.

Re: BT Broadband help

Reboot your router - this will resynv your line. Also you could try conecting directly to the test socket.
