DAB for Sonos system

Looking to get a DAB radio to connect to my new Sonos system as all the internet stations sound very poor.

Don't want anything too expensive and must obviously have an aux output and preferably fm reception as well. I've seen the Genus DU-1 (for £30 on ebay) but it doesn't have fm and also the I-Tech XFM which is a bit big.

Anyone got any other ideas please.

DAB wont sound much better than internet radio. DAB radio is transmitted in a compressed (lossy) format, usually 128kbps (sometime less) - the same as most internet radio.

I would take a deeper look into what's going on with your Sono's. What feeds have you tried? Some internet radio streams are as low as 56kbps. I listen to some internet stations that are streamed at 256kbps on my Squeezebox 3, they sound pretty good and much better than DAB could ever manage.

I experience the same issue - I listen mainly to BBC radio via the standard URLs supplied by Sonos and the quality is pretty poor. I also have a Sony FM tuner plugged in to a Sonos, and when I switch to that the quality is a different world.

I'm looking forward to the day when Sonos lets you choose a line-in source as the alarm feed.
