it's ok - the gfx card is a bit dated and the memory being on 533Mhz is a bit on the slow side but not to bad pricewise.

Beware Mesh. They build good machines at good prices but their customer services are one of the worst I've ever come across. If anything goes wrong - forget it. I've tried to buy two machines from them - the first everything went hunky dory, the second I never actually received as Mesh and their joke of a distribution supplier (Amtrak) didnt seem able to cart the thing from A to B - I'm still trying to get a refund from Mesh.

I'd disagree with that. Our family has brought 4 PC's from Mesh now and we've never encountered any problems. They also have an official support forum on Hexus.net and it's very helpful - more than most other manufacturers give you!

I'd have to say you've been very lucky then that nothing has gone wrong. A quick search on the internet or any consumer review site shows Mesh customer service to be a debacle. Their customer service is notorious. As I said - good machines (I'm writing this on one now - my first use of Mesh when everything went OK), but use at risk as if any part of the process goes wrong they will let you down badly. They will not (in my experience and that of numerous others) reply to emails or action agreements made over the phone, and you will find it difficult to get your money back (I'm currently going through my credit card company as Mesh have simply failed to get me a refund for undelivered goods despite sending me an email weeks again saying they would sort it in a few days). They are not helped by a near totally useless dispatch company of Amtrak - again a quick internet search will show that this company simply does not deliver on the agreed day. In my case I wasted a day off then went to their depot only to find out they'd lost the monitor. These are not atypical experiences of Mesh or Amtrak which is a shame as, based on one machine I bought, I really like Mesh setups and am disappointed that they are impossible to deal with based on subsequent attempts. I recommend you do research into both companies before commiting your hard earned cash.

Well I've owned two Mes PC's and have had no problems either. Great value for money.

Re: Mesh elite2 base duo: Good value?

I know a few people with Mesh computers and they've all been very happy with them. You could level the statement that "if anything goes wrong they are a nightmare to deal with" at most internet based companies though !

Hmm... how many people would bother to sign up to post on sites about the perfectly acceptable level of customer service they received from MESH (or any other company for that matter)? Not many, would be my guess.

My own experience with MESH was okay. I found their technical support to be somewhat lacking (I was slightly alarmed by the fact that I felt I knew more than they did), but never atrocious. The ordering process was very straightforward too and they delivered on time.

That said, I self-build now.

Fair enough. As I said though - Mesh are notorious (there is even a nominated person in Trading Standards dealing with complaints for Mesh), but you are of course free to make your own decision based on the advice above.
