HD-DVD playback on pc which is better?

Please can some advise me on which would offer the best possible playback for a HD-DVD 1080P disk file that I acquired from the internet (yes a full 27.4gb download)?

My current pc spec is: Shuttle Reflexion X, P4 3.2ghz, 1gb ram, geforce 7300gs 256mb connected to a Sony KDL-32V2000 via the vga input.

I'm currently using PowerDVD HD 6.5 for playback of these files and find it works ok but I'm wondering if any members have any comments or advice on wether the vga with 1:1 pixal mapping or hdmi is better? As this version of PowerDVD is quite old is there something better I could/should be using?

To be honest, the current playback does look good but I have to say that I have some x.264 files and other HD format files that would appear to offer the same level if not better quality PQ than this one at a smaller file size. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestion would be welcome please?
