Pronto 940 PC cable, where can i get one?

Hi, i need to get hold of a Pronto serial cable as ours has gone missing after we moved house.

Only problem is, even if i got one, our new laptop only has USB sockets, how would i connect the Pronto up to the laptop?

these guys have a serial to usb convertor...but not exactly the cheapest option, i'm sure there should be a cheaper alternative out there somewhere...
