Help! High Pitched Whining Noise

Anybody out there who maybe able to help.

Recently fitted new psu (hiper power 580w), cpu fan (arctic cooling freezer 7 pro) and graphic card (8800gts). All has been well up to tonight.

Computer has now started making what sounds like a high pitched but faint whining noise when loading up and playing company of heroes. Also has restared itself a couple of times.

Had to reposition cpu fan tonight as I originally put it wrong way round (doh!) Could I have done something to the thermal paste?

Also, when first fitted card done a performance test on COH, result was GREAT. Done another one tonight after problems staring occuring, result was POOR.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

I was suffering from a high pitched whining noise too.

The solution?

I got a divorce....bliss, no more high pitched whining (though the dishes are piling up).

I get that one too, maybe divorce is the way to go !!

Any other help out there (slightly more serious) !

Could be a fan, vibration or a capacitor although the latter make a sort of hiss. Is it the new PSU ?

no, don't think its new psu. Only seems to happen when i start up a game and the graphics card has to work
