Question Harmony 785 vs 885

Most of the recent posts seem to be on the Harmony 885, but looking at the Logitech website, the 785 seems very similar, the only obvious difference I can find is 8 "activities" on the 885 vs 6 on the 785

So does anyone have any advice as to which is better - I can't see me needing 8 activities (I'll only be using it to control a new flatscreen TV, as yet unbought, Sky HD, and a Sony combined 5.1 system & DVD player)

Is the 885 simply more recent, and hence more up-to-date with better functionality for ex?

Not sure about the differences myself but there's a lengthy discussion thread on the 885 that should have some informative posts here.

Lots of FAQ's here

Actually it is the 785 that is the newer of the two! Apart from the button layout/design, the only difference between the 785 and 885 is that there are two less soft keys on the 785 as you noticed.

The 785 has only been out for a couple of months where as the 885 has been around for a while so you will probably be able to find better prices for it on the web. Although the 785 uses the new style button layout/design also apparent on the 525 and 555, many people prefer the design of the 885 and find it more ergonomic. I myself went for the 785 as I think it looks great.

The "activities" to which you are referring are actually soft keys that change their function depending upon the currently selected device/activity. Both remotes support more functions than is immediately visible on a single screen (6 on 785 and 8 on 885) and have buttons to scroll through pages of functions.
