Philips SRU9600 - operations

Using the menus, I can get most of the functions for most of my kit. However, there are annoying problems that I try to use the "fix a key" for.
Usually, this is fine but sometimes it WILL NOT LEARN A KEY.

Why not!?!?!?

Anyone else have this?

Re: Philips SRU9600 - operations

Yeh I bought mine a week ago and I'm having similar problems. It's a great remote but there are buttons that it's simply refuses to learn. It does almost all of the functions I need but if it doesn't do all, then is there really a point to it?

I'm torn - it really looks good but I might return it. Does anyone have any good alternatives that you can buy from Currys/PC World?

Re: Philips SRU9600 - operations

For the Pronto remotes, when there were problems learning people suggested all sorts - some may help with other types of Philips Remotes.

1. Learn with the two remotes on a dark/light, non-reflective background.

2 Learn by quickly moving the old remote across the learning eye of the Philips as you press the button you want to learn.

3. Learn with lights off, in a darker room, away from direct sun. (see how your remote does not always control equipment if the sun streams in on it)

4 Learn well away from any possible interference (ie away from the TV or your PC)

5. With the Pronto remote you can learn via the software with the remote connected to the PC (Not sure if this is possible with your model) but this is one of the best ways to learn.

6. Learn from further away than you would normally.

Hopefully one of those may help
