Problem with Harmony 525

I got myself a new Harmony 525, never owned a remote control like this before. But I am having a couple of problems with setting it up.

1) When trying to turn on my Videologic Decoder, the remote turns the unit on then back off again. To me it seems like its sending too long a signal to the unit, hence the unit thinks its being requested to be turned on then off again. How do I go about fixing this problem, like reducing the amount of time the remote transmits the signal? I can see you can change the delay, but does not seem to help much.

2) When setting up an Activity it automatically turns off all devices that are not part of that activity. Such as if I wanted to watch some TV it would turn on my TV (well tries too, that's my 3rd problem) and PVR but switches off my Xbox 360. I don't want it to switch any other devices off as they may be doing something in the background. I can't seem to find a way to remove that step from the activities menu, is there a way at all?

3) I own a Mirai HDTV and am having problems getting it to turn on. When doing an Activity that switches the TV on, it does not. I need to add a stage to the activity list to get the remote to press the "Powertoggle" button for that too happen. It seems the standard "on" and "off" buttons on the remote need to be held down a bit longer for the TV to respond, but the "Powertoggle" button works fine with a light press.

Is there any way in telling the remote to use the "Powertoggle" button to turn the TV on during the inital steps of an Activity instead of me having to add one to do that, meaning I have to wait longer for the TV to come on.

Re: Problem with Harmony 525

I use the website for programming, so the software might be slightly different, but you should get the idea.

1) Select "Troubleshooting" for the decoder device, then "This device responds too much to some commands". Reduce the number of repeats to 0 or 1.

2) For each activity, select "Customize", then "Activity options". There is an option to "Turn off unused devices". Set this to "Leave ON"

3) For the TV device, select "More options" then "Power settings". Select "One button for both ON and OFF", then select "Powertoggle" as that command.
If your original remote has separate ON and OFF buttons, you could also try re-learning them in RAW and hold them down as long as required when teaching it. RAW instruction are in the sticky at the top of the page.
