Thosiba HD-E1 - Expansion/USB

Received my E1 today and am intrigued by the USB ports on the front.

I image, for now, they're disabled.

Does anyone know what the future plan is? I assume a firmware update will activate them... anyone know if it will be possible to add external HDD to the ports?

I dont know what they are going to use them for, if anything. But I did plug an external HDD into one port to see what happens, and nothing happens. The E1 seemed to access the HDD but for now there is no way to access any of the data.

Hi from Turkey,

In the first generation A1 the USB ports were not even connected to the main board. There was no cable connection.

I don't know if it is the same about the second generation A2, XA2, E2 and XE2. Probably it is the same. If so there is no use of trying a connection with USB.
