DLO Homedock... Anyone tried one?

I've been looking around for a solution to integrate my IPOD into my AV Amp and TV so I get the functionality of being able to select tracks through the display on the TV screen. This DLO Homedock solution seems to fit the bill although its a little pricey... Has anyone had any experiance with one and got any feedback for me... thanks

Allan,

It's the first time i've seen that, but it certainly looks v good!
I'll have a dig around and would also be interested if anyone has anything to say about it.

Wayne.

Re: DLO Homedock... Anyone tried one?

hi, i imported two of these from the states thru ebay, it certainly is a nice dock and the on-screen menu is very good with a choice of composite or s-video outputs. unfortunately when i began to use the second one it's plug-in power supply failed after 24hrs and was just outside the 90 day warranty, but an e-mail to DLO and they agreed to replace it, although i haven't received it as yet. also apparantly there are no discrete ir codes available so be careful if you are wanting to use this as an alternative to a soundserver.

Re: DLO Homedock... Anyone tried one?

I have one of these which I bought in the USA.

It is a very good bit of kit. Well made and a great design. The colour and the remote are probably more suited to a black iPod rather than the white one. Other wise very good. S-VHS for the menus is required although you can't play videos or Podcasts. I think this is restricted by to Apple though. The sound out is via phono left and rights, so if you have an AV amp with a spare S-VHS and phono in that you can link it is an excellent choice.

The PSU is 110-240v. However it is a USA 2 pin so you will need a USA to UK plug adaptor only.

Re: DLO Homedock... Anyone tried one?

There seem to be a few good quality alternatives:

Onkyo DS-A2 = £65
Pioneer IDK-01 = £80
Marantz IS-201 = £100
Arcam R-Dock = £130

Anyone have any experience of these?
