What is the power rating of the Samsung

I need to use a step down converter with a Sunsung BD1000, I have a 100VA one, is that enough?

Thanks,

Jeff

Re: What is the power rating of the Samsung

I don't know the specific rating for the Sammy, but 100W is easily adequate. The Sony BDP-S1 is rated at 35W.

Re: What is the power rating of the Samsung

Just bear in mind that if you overload it it will burn out and probably damage the player.

http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/b...Specifications

45w so 100w should be fine.

Re: What is the power rating of the Samsung

They use MUCH less power than the Tosh A1 etc so 100w should be fine. I think I clocked it in the 30s.

Re: What is the power rating of the Samsung

If you would prefer something less industrial, try these:

http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SC5328.html

The Tacima transformers use toroidal windings which are less prone to hum. They were informally recommended to me by Russ Andrews.

Re: What is the power rating of the Samsung

Those BD players seem to have low power ratings

My HD-XA1 says 90W on the back, and since I use a PS3, my BD player is 380W lol

Re: What is the power rating of the Samsung

The Tosh say 90w and peaks at that but routinely runs at mid 50s during operation.

Re: What is the power rating of the Samsung

So it would seem that Blu-Ray is more environmentally friendly than HD-DVD (sic). It's a wonder that the BDA marketing guys haven't picked up on that one!
